Articles & Funding 

MATs are subject to two governing documents:

• The funding agreement, which is the legal contract between EAST and the Department for Education (DfE) and is administered by the Education & Skills Funding Agency (ESFA)
• There is a master funding agreement and supplementary agreements for each academy within the Trust
• The Articles of Association set out the charitable objects of the Trust
• The governance structure and overarching procedures for EAST underpin this with a clear and coherent structure 

Important Information:

• MATs are subject to the Education Regulations 2014 (Independent School Standards), which set out issues relating to curriculum and conduct of the schools
• All Academy Trusts are required by their funding agreements to adhere to the terms and requirements of the Academies Trust Handbook.
